Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 6, 2026

1. Introduction

MozInvoice ("we", "our", or "us") is an invoice and estimate generation platform designed to help independent professionals and small businesses create, manage, and share financial documents. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to your personal data.

By using MozInvoice, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

MozInvoice offers optional account sign-in via a third-party authentication provider (Google). If you choose to sign in, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo as provided by that service. This information is used solely to identify your account and enable cloud sync.

Account creation is not required to use the core features of MozInvoice. You may use the app entirely without signing in; in that case, no personal account data is collected.

2.2 Business & Document Data

MozInvoice allows you to enter and store business information (company name, address, tax identification numbers, logo) and document data (client details, invoice items, amounts, payment terms). This data belongs entirely to you and is used only to generate your documents.

2.3 Location Information

On your first visit, we perform a server-side lookup of your IP address to determine your country of origin. This is used solely to pre-fill your country and default currency, improving your initial setup experience. We do not store your IP address or precise location beyond this single session lookup; the result is saved locally on your device.

2.4 Payment Information

Premium subscription payments are processed by authorised third-party payment processors. We do not collect, store, or have access to your full payment credentials. The payment processor's own privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data.

We store only the outcome of a transaction (success/failure, reference number, subscription activation date) to manage your plan status.

2.5 Usage Data

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as feature interactions and error logs) to improve the service. This data is not linked to your identity.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the MozInvoice service
  • To authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • To synchronise your data across devices (Premium plan only)
  • To process your subscription and activate your plan
  • To pre-configure your country and currency preferences
  • To diagnose technical issues and improve the platform
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

4.1 Free Plan — Local Only

When using MozInvoice without a Premium subscription, all your data (invoices, estimates, clients, business profile) is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. No data is transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser data will permanently delete your documents.

4.2 Premium Plan — Cloud Sync

Premium subscribers benefit from cloud synchronisation. Your data is stored in a secure, access-controlled cloud database. Each user's data is isolated and accessible only via their authenticated account.

4.3 Security Measures

We apply industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), server-side authentication enforcement, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

5. Data Sharing

We share data with the following categories of service providers only as necessary to operate MozInvoice:

  • Cloud infrastructure provider — for database and authentication hosting
  • Payment processors — to complete subscription transactions; they receive only the information needed to process your payment

All third-party providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the purposes of providing their services to us and in compliance with applicable law.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MozInvoice, our users, or others.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, all associated cloud data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems within a reasonable period. Locally stored data (Free plan) is controlled entirely by you and your device.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format
  • Objection — object to certain processing activities

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@mozinvoice.app. We will respond within 30 days.

You may also delete your account at any time from the Account settings page within the app. This action immediately and permanently removes all your cloud-stored data.

8. Cookies & Local Storage

MozInvoice uses local storage to save your preferences and application data on your device. This is not a traditional cookie but serve similar purposes. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

9. International Data Transfers

MozInvoice is an international service. If you are located outside the region where our cloud infrastructure operates, your data may be transferred to and processed in a different country. We ensure that any such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and that appropriate safeguards are in place.

10. Children's Privacy

MozInvoice is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided personal data, we will delete that information promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
